SunGod are a small but fast-growing sunglasses brand. They are committed to being a really ethical company, to making products that are the very opposite of disposable by replacing worn out or broken parts – rather than throwing away a whole pair of sunglasses. They asked for my help to guide them through the whole B Corp process and submitted for certification with a high score. They are currently awaiting evaluation. More importantly, off the back of the B Impact Assessment they have developed a detailed action plan for how to improve sustainability across the company and have appointed a sustainability and supply chain manager to oversee this plan.
The B Corp Assessment is a maze, it's filled with twists and turns that anyone could get lost in. Kate was a brilliant guide, making the journey to submission much easier. Helping to explain the details of each question, giving useful insights into what's achievable in both the short and long terms.

Origin had started their BIA when I began working with them in January 2020 but had got stuck and were losing momentum. I helped them complete the BIA, understand their baseline score and the “gap” between where they were starting from and where they needed to get to in order to achieve B Corp status. Together we created an action plan and I helped them to develop processes, policies and suggested ways they could improve their B Corp score by making changes that were right for them as a business. I supported them through the certification process – helping to gather evidence and provide the clarification that B Lab asked for. Meg Rivers is an artisan baking company, supplying Harrods and Ocado amongst many others. As with many smaller businesses, Jess, the Chief Exec, is focused on running and developing the business and although she had wanted to become a B Corp for some time, was never able to carve out enough time to go through the assessment and put an improvement plan in place. And although Meg Rivers were already operating in a very “B Corp” way, many of their good practices were not properly documented. I helped her to capture all of these great operational practices and to formalize them.

Sail is an award-winning design practice with a laser focus on helping organisations to bring about social change. Sail were starting from a strong position as their business model and ethos are so clearly geared towards having a positive social impact. Nonetheless, they needed some help to codify the good practice that forms part of their culture into some consistent and relevant policies and then to navigate the rigorous verification process.
We worked with Kate from the start to finish of our B Corp journey. I am director of a creative agency with a clear ethos. Navigating the B Corp process was complex, I am very time limited so commissioned Kate to work with me very closely to guide us through to accreditation.
